Pillars of Poetic Goals

Márcia Vieira Ávila was born in 1980 on Terceira Island, Azores. She enrolled in the Architecture School and later in photography at AR.CO in Lisbon, the city where she currently lives. Professionally, she has worked for various multinational companies in the field of Decoration and Interior Design and is currently working in the field of Interior Remodeling, specializing in kitchens. In parallel, she is a Cake Designer and a trainer in the pastry industry, having founded her own brand 10 years ago. With a strong creative, dreamy, and persevering component, she maintains the active habit of writing as well as several fine arts pages with different styles and techniques. She is the author of the blog MissMaravi, Curator of the Transatlantic Book Club, and the author of the book 'MARAVI, a menina da ilha', written, illustrated, and edited by herself in February 2022. Her first book is now in its 2nd edition and is currently being translated into English. In the editorial phase is the children's book 'Mr. Gecko,' written by the author and illustrated by the Luso-Brazilian Monique Guimarães. She is a co-author in various collections such as 'Sonhar e Ser' - Tales, December 2021 / 'Fragmentos de Saudade' – Anthology of Portuguese Literature, June 2023 / 'A vida é mais tempo alegre do que triste' - Poetic Anthology included in the 8th edition of the Lisbon Poetry Festival, September 2023. Actively, she is a member of the 'Clube de Escrita Empoderada' of Susana Machado and a bi-weekly columnist in the digital magazine Repórter Sombra and also a board member and columnist in Aorta, a Brazilian magazine readed in 24 countries around the world.
